Chris Wilker - Key Grip

A recent graduate of the Guelph Collegiate Vocational Institute, Chris is just starting out on his journey to become a filmmaker. Currently enrolled in Sheridan College’s Film program, Chris first met MIND’S EYE creator Thomas M. Gofton, during his high school co-op program at Rogers Television station. Thomas invited Chris to join the production team for the webseries where he served as a Production Assistant and Key Grip. Chris also has experience in camera operation, editing, and even some animation. Creative, hard-working, and one of the quietest people you’ll ever meet, Chris won’t stop until he’s reached his goal of one day becoming a professional filmmaker!

James C. Golden - 2nd Unit Director

James comes to the Mind's Eye project with a unique, real world work experience: serving and protecting the public trust as a Constable with the Waterloo Regional Police Service. But as a writer and director James has thrown himself into the film business by co-directing the short pilot project LAST NIGHT with Brad McMillan, and is currently prepping his feature directorial debut. James was also instrumental in the creation of the award-winning short “The Synnema,” a film produced by a team from Synn Studios for the Ed Video Media Arts Centre’s 24-Hour Filmmaking Competition. When not making his own films, James lends his expertise to the coaching of actors in the proper tactics of gun handling and standard police procedures on productions such as SHADES OF GREY.

Adam Donaldson - Publicity

Adam is an experienced writer, journalist, filmmaker, photographer and promoter working in Guelph. Currently he’s Editor-at-Large for the Arts & Entertainment e-zine Lucid Forge, Editor of the local arts focused In Magazine, and political columnist for Echo Weekly. Adam embarked on a filmmaking career in 2007 with the mocumentary short film SPOOKY KIDS, and was recently co-director of “Environmental Science” for the Ed Video Media Arts Centre 24-Hour Filmmaking Contest, as well as director of a volunteer video Sunrise Therapeutic Riding and Learning Centre in Puslinch.

Spencer Osborne - Camera Operator

Spencer started his interested in film during his high school years when he began shooting his own films with a camcorder. When he graduated, he went on to learn the basics of filmmaking from a graduate of the the world-renowned New York Film Academy. Later, as Spencer trained to be a firefighter, he never lost that love of film and he continued to build his skills as both a cinematographer and as a film editor. After helping to establish Synn Studios in 2007, Spencer further expanded the Synn brand as co-creator of the music label Synn Records. Then in 2008, Spencer created Ozzy Entertainment, which was designed to help connect bands to Synn Studios services like photography, videography, web design and music production.

Justin Moses - Assistant Fight Director

Having over 10 years of martial arts training, and another six working with stage and film combat, Justin attended Sheridan's Musical Theatre Performance program before switching his direction to focus on fighting for film and stage. Justin fell in love with theatre at an early age and has had the great pleasure of performing in such shows as; OKLAHOMA, FOOTLOOSE, GREASE, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, and A MINDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM, as well as touring with Blackthorn Productions. Justin is thrilled to have gotten the chance to work with the cast and crew of MIND’S EYE.

Dwyane Mailman - Stuntman

The acting bug bit Dwayne in the third row of the ensemble in Globe Production’s ONCE UPON A MATTRESS and since then he has taken every opportunity to hone his craft. He has acted with companies in Guelph, Georgetown, and Brampton, where he earned a nomination for best supporting actor for his performance as Jack McGuire in BLT’s THE SENSUAL SENATOR. Dwayne is currently a member of The Second City’s Conservatory program where, under the direction of Shari Hollett, he and his classmates are learning the techniques that have made many of the great comedians famous. When he’s not on stage, Dwayne can be found in front of the camera in various television spots, working behind the camera as an avid photographer and during the summer he can be found filling various rolls in Renaissance and Pirate festivals.

Cameron Parkinson --Stuntman

Cameron Parkinson is an actor and stuntman who spent most of his time on MIND’S EYE trying to make the show's stars look good during their fight scenes. Not an easy job! Cameron's previous acting experience is mostly theatrical, but he has performed in both scripted and improvised roles in the past. Bringing a diverse and ever growing portfolio of unarmed and weapons training to the shoot, Cameron portrays a Shadow's Hand Minion as well as an anonymous extra on screen. Aside from acting, Cameron busies with writing, modelling and working for Blackthorn Productions.

Annika Gofton - Craft Services

A graduate of Tartu University in her native Estonia, Annika joined Synn Studios in 2008 and has worked hard to research the international markets for film production in the Baltic regions of Europe. Annika has acted as an assistant director for Synn Studios Inc. commercial productions for clients such as Ashton Ridge Homes and “Music with Brian,” and was instrumental in the wardrobe department on the studios’ first full-length feature, FOUR ACES (2009).

Candice Lepage - Craft Services

Candice has been working with food professionally for nearly 20 years, starting with front and back of house for Phil's Diner, manager at Guelph Poultry Gourmet Market, owner of Simplicity Meal Solutions, deli manager at Wellington Country Marketplace. In 2008, she received her certificate in Professional Cooking, which is around the same time she started catering galas, premieres and other events for Synn Studios. When not working with the Studio, Candice is lending her passion and expertise to other ambitious foodies, or is supporting the local music scene in Guelph and Kitchener-Waterloo.

Vince Moskowec - Set/Props

Vince Moskowec is an artist with a wide-range of experience in numerous mediums. He’s a graphic artist, painter, set builder and prop maker that has used his talent and expertise in numerous film productions, from big budget Hollywood films like ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13 (2007) to small budget indie shorts like SHADES OF GREY. When not on a film set or in his studio, Vince can be found helping other artists at Wyndham Arts Supplies in Guelph.

Danielle Glam Veats - Makeup

Danielle's love for makeup bloomed at an early age when she set up a (completely unsuccessful) make-up stand instead of selling lemonade like a normal child. That passion never went away and she started training with a make-up artist while in high school and continued her education at Gina's College of Advanced Aesthetics in Waterloo, Ontario. Danielle now owns All Dolled Up Jewellery and Makeup Artistry and spends most of her time barefoot in the kitchen cooking for her husband or in front of the mirror attempting to look presentable.

Jon Davis - Special Effects Supervisor

Jon brings to Synn Studios With more than a decade’s experience in the Toronto film & television industry performing special physical effects on dozens of productions, from major Hollywood feature films to Canadian television and live performances. Recent projects include Degrassi: The Next Generation (CTV), Little Mosque on the Prairie (CBC), Murdoch Mysteries (CityTV), and Aaron Stone (Disney). He was excited and honoured to join the Synn in 2009, impressed with the high level of enthusiasm and teamwork towards excellence he found here.

Henry DeVries - Set Construction

A master carpenter, Henry is the founder of DeVries Renovations and Set Development. For the last three years now, Henry has developed and led the construction for Royal City Musical Productions’ rendition of the Disney musical BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, as well as other productions like BLOOD BROTHERS and KISS ME KATE. Henry came into Synn Studios during the production of the sci-fi comedy DEEP FIVE-H-ONE-T and co-ordinated the major construction of the fully-enclosed space ship set in the Studio’s main stage.
