Playtest Dreamweaver RPG

The Dreamweaver RPG playtest package is now available to download from the Mind's Eye web site. The package includes everything you need to start playing Dreamweaver, including the playtest version of the core rules, a character sheet, and a pre-made adventure.

We're asking all playtesters to play through the provided adventure at least once before you start making up your own adventures.

We'd appreciate any and all feedback you may have, but there are a couple things in particular that we'd like to get your opinions on:

We wanted the combat system to be quick and easy to use, but we didn't want fights to be over after a single dice roll. Do you think the combat system achieves this, or is it too lethal, or do combats take too long to resolve?

The dreamweaving ability has proven to be a challenge to balance. Do you find dreamweavers to be adequately balanced with other character types, or are they too powerful, or are they too weak?

Are there any rules that are difficult to understand, either because they were poorly written, because there aren't enough examples, etc?

Are there any important rules that seem to be missing or need to be expanded?

What part of the rules do you see as needs improvement?

What part of the rules did you enjoy the most?

Gearing Up for Auditions

Directors Tom Brown and Thomas M. Gofton goof around before filming one of many auditions for the cast of Mind's Eye the Series. In the midst of their antics the questions was raised - who would win in a fight? A knight (played by Brown ) or a Samurai (played by Gofton).  We'll let you come to your own conclusions... for now...

Fight Choreography & Training

The marvels of Blackthorn Productions visited Synn Studios and the Mind's Eye team. The day was full of swords, swinging and swiping! The Dreamweavers and a couple Shadows Hand minions (the fight coordinators themselves) took to the parking lot and trained all afternoon in the arts of stage combat. It was a spectacle for the passerby's that's for sure. Check out the series of combat training videos below and see at a very basic level the kind of action you'll expect from the series.
