Interview with Chris Zweerman

Christopher L. Zweerman was an old University friend to Director Thomas Gofton. Together the two chatted about great ideas and fun stories. They actually worked on a fantasy novel together during the years at the University of Guelph. One year, Thomas Gofton prepared the short film Mind's Eye and had nothing really developed to the degree it is now. Christopher always had an interest to dable in anything technical or try it out just once. Together and with the crew of the first short film concept rendition of Mind's Eye Christopher and Thomas were a fun friendship team.

Now in medical school in Australia, Christopher is well on his way to Doctor-hood. He managed to come back and visit his old friends from his old university town. After lunch, Thomas interviewed Christopher about the reminiscent times of 2007's shoot. See the interview below as well as the original concept trailer.

Dreamweaver the Roleplaying Game

The Dreamweaver Roleplaying Game

Dreamweavers is a pen-and-paper role playing game set in the same world as the Mind’s Eye web series. Players will be able to take on the roles of humans, half-bloods, and dreamweavers who have been caught up in a secret war against powerful supernatural forces.

The percentile-based rules system has finally reached a point where we can start doing in-house playtests. Our playtesters have already used the rules to create several test characters. The characters ended up being very different from each other, but on initial inspection they appeared to be very balanced and seemed to cover everything the players wanted their characters to be able to do.

The next step will be to play many, many, playtest games and see how the rules hold up to actual gameplay.  If you are interested in beta testing this game please contact mindseye@lynnvander.com and lets talk about it.

The game is scheduled to release in December on electronic pdf before a 2011 hard cover release!  Stay tuned for more!

The Kids of MIND’S EYE Meet THE GUILD’S Felicia Day

Felicia Day Meets Mind's Eye Actors

Could a crossover be in the works? We're not sure, but we do know that the young players of MIND'S EYE were both thrilled and honoured to get a chance to meet and talk to Felicia Day, star of DR. HORRIBLE'S SING-ALONG BLOG and the webseries THE GUILD, at this past weekend's National Fan Expo.  Obviously, the kids are big fans of Ms. Day's series, which follows the offline adventures of a group of online gamers. Hoping to follow in THE GUILD's tremendous success, Nik MacMillan, Aidan Harris, Jodre Datu, Andrew Ellis, Nathan Fryer and McKinlee Phillips talked MIND'S EYE with Ms. Day and took the opportunity to open the door for her to appear in the second season of their webseries.

Getting the opportunity to meet the wonderful Felicia Day (who was really, really nice to all kids at Fan Expo by the way) was just one of the many great memories that cast and crew took away from the weekend event at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (and that goes double for Jodre). Stay tuned for much more about MIND'S EYE as we count down to the November 26th series premiere.

Mind’s Eye Takes The National Fan Expo

What a weekend for the cast and crew of MIND'S EYE THE SERIES! Record-breaking attendance at the National Fan Expo made for an ideal environment for Synn Studios' biggest push for MIND'S EYE yet with the premiere of the official trailer and the in-person appearances of several members of the cast, some of them in costume.

All-in-all, we got some incredible responses and generated a lot of excitment for the November 26th premiere of the webseries. We made a lot of new friends and had a really great time in the process. Dozens of people got their pictures taken with Tom Brown (Hero Mark, The Knight), Thomas Gofton (Hero Patrick, The Samurai Cowboy) and Sean Liu (Hero Koji, The Ninja). Also at the MIND'S EYE booth were the younger cast members: Nik MacMillan, Aidan Harris, Jodre Datu, Lily O'Coin, Andrew Ellis, Nathan Fryer and McKinlee Phillips.

The cast and crew of MIND`S EYE would like to thank everyone that came out to support us over the weekend, and to our new friends, we hope that you enjoyed seeing what we're working on and that we've got you excited for what's coming in the future. And if you missed the trailer, sorry, but you'll have to wait with everyone else to see it when it's officially launched this Halloween. In the meantime, mark your calendars for the November 26th series premiere and take a look at the pictures below.

Although not in her Hero Elyssa costume, actress Danika Czubak took a break from playing a Roman at Anchor Bay's SPARTACUS' booth to hang out with the MIND'S EYE crew
