The Story

Illia Fairchild is a twelve-year-old boy. He likes to draw and build forts. He likes to fantasize about far off lands filled with Knights and Wizards and Pirates. He fights with his Grandfather sometimes, dozes off during math class, and is pretty good at baseball. He has a crush on a girl but is terrified of telling her. He wishes he had a dog. He doesn’t know it but he’s being hunted.

For centuries a war has been fought between the terrifying Daemon and the Righteous Seraphim. They are searching for a human with the power to tip the balance of power in their favour and finally put the war to rest.

Closing in on Illia the war is spilling into the streets and one small suburban town is becoming a land filled with mystery and danger.

Illia is not alone in his fight. His neighbourhood friends are Humanity’s greatest heroes and they’ve sworn to protect Illia from the harsh reality of the war until he is old enough to understand his place in the world. Known as Dreamweavers these heroes possess the ability to alter reality with their imaginations. Powerful warriors from different cultures and time periods the Dreamweavers disguise themselves as children and work behind the scenes to give Illia a chance to find his own way in a world filled with expectations.

THE CHOSEN ONE

Illia Fairchild

A quiet and introverted 12 year old boy in the ‘everyday’ world, Illia is a talented artist and daydreamer who throws himself with gusto into a world of fantasy rather than deal with mundane stresses of the world around him. Illia is being raised by his grandfather Marty and spends most of his free time with his long-time friends. Cautious, shy and seemingly a harmless boy, Illia could become the most powerful Dreamweaver in history, being the only human ever born influenced by the energies of both Seraphim and Daemon. As Illia matures and learns more about his true identity, he wrestles with the implications of his power to shape the world forever.

THE DREAMWEAVERS

Mark - The Templar Knight

Mark was born an English peasant in the early 1100s. He is a bright and optimistic Dreamweaver warrior who lifted himself out of the peasant class to become a traveler and adventurer. In his late twenties while a Knight Templar, he stumbled into the midst of a temple raid between a Seraphim and a Daemon, and gained his Dreamweaving abilities nearly dying to protect an innocent bystander. Honouring his heritage, Mark uses his powers to become a mighty knight. He is a strong believer in helping those in need and using his powers to defend the innocent. Mark acts as the leader of Illia’s Dreamweaver guardian team as well as playing the role of Illia's best friend.

Patrick - The Western Samurai

Creative and quick witted, Patrick spent the majority of his life traveling and studying around the world. Hailed as one of the most promising inventors of the early 1700's, he gained his Dreamweaving abilities after causing a major catastrophe during one of his famous experiments that went awry, killing many innocent people. Racked with guilt and shame Patrick spent many years soul- searching a new life where he could forget his past. He found this in the peaceful islands of Japan where he studied the ancient meditations of the Samurai. Patrick clings to ancient honour in hopes to redeem himself for his failure. Patrick sees it as his personal responsibility to ensure that Illia does not cause the same suffering and destruction that he did.

Darius - The Druid of Magic

Darius is the oldest Dreamweaver in existence. Darius gained his powers while living in ancient Egypt, surviving a ritual meant for another. Having lived as a Dreamweaver for more than a millennium, Darius believes there is nothing he hasn’t seen or done. Intensely intelligent and in tune with the natural world, Darius uses his Dreamweaving abilities to become a powerful wizard armed with magical spells. When not with Illia, Darius prefers to spend his time in solitude, reflecting on the memories of countless lifetimes. Darius’ time on earth has left him apathetic and bored with most situations often conveying a sarcastic and lethargic demeanour.

Elyssa - The Pirate Conquistador

Companion of Mark, Elyssa was born in the early 1500's and was the fiancé of a wealthy Spanish admiral. Elyssa gained her Dreamweaving abilities after being abandoned by her fiancé and stranded at sea to face nature’s worst head-on. Suspicious and guarded, Elyssa believes in doing whatever it takes to survive using her powers to combat evil as a swashbuckling pirate. Although often hot headed and quick to act, Elyssa is deeply connected to her friends, defending them with stubborn tenacity. Elyssa takes her role as Illia’s guardian with conviction, ready to do whatever it takes to keep his powers of out the wrong hands.

Nadia - The Gypsy Wanderer

Once a strong and skilled Dreamweaver and guardian of Illia. Nadia died at the hands of the Dolgrath while attempting to keep the identities of Illia and her Dreamweaver companions a secret. Although no longer a part of the physical world Nadia now appears as a mysterious figure in Illia’s dreams. Warm and Compassionate, Nadia guides Illia through the dream world and attempts to keep him from falling victim to the pitfalls of the shadow realm.

Koji - The Ninja at Heart

The youngest of Illia’s Dreamweaver guardians, Koji too is only just discovering his own powers after a skateboarding accident. Before that, Koji lived his life on the edge challenging his adrenaline with youthful extreme sports. Bright-eyed and eager to please his newfound companions, Koji has taken to Dreamweaving with the skill and understanding of a seasoned veteran, choosing to manifest as a swift and stealthy Ninja. Koji becomes what he thinks is the epitome of ‘awesome’, seeing his powers and situation as an opportunity to be a part of incredible adventures and thrills. Ready to tackle any challenge with a smile on his face, Koji’s enthusiasm and optimism brings a breath of fresh air to the rest of the Dreamweavers.

THE VILLAINS

The Dolgrath Devil

A powerful demon of ancient origins and a major player in the war between the Seraphim and the Daimon. The Dolgrath has lead countless disasters and massacres. Hell-bent on destroying his ancient enemies and gaining total control over the fate of humanity, the Dolgrath longs to create a new world order in which he is the undisputed ruler. The Dolgrath discovers the Dreamweavers and their unusual ability to bend reality to their will and soon became obsessed collecting Dreamweavers in aid of his mission.

Maya - The Darkweaver

A cunning Dreamweaver woman dedicated to the destruction of her own kind. Maya is the servant to the Dolgrath and will stop at nothing to deliver his quest. With no real need to disguise, Maya uses her might and ferocious personality to engage her foe. Along with her Shadows Hand Minions, Maya hunts the Dreamweavers in the name of Dolgrath with only one Dreamweaver in particular she thinks is worth "saving".

THE SUPPORT

Grandpa Marty

After Illia's mother passed on during child birth, Marty has assumed the role of Illia’s caretaker posing as his grandfather. A passionate artist and craftsman, Marty spends his days in his backyard creating works of art ranging from paintings to birdhouses. Faced with the pain of losing a wife in his earlier years, Marty took a career in pretending to be a psychic reader which ended after a real encounter with an Seraphim changing his path forever. Since Illia's birth, Marty has managed to remain youthful and positive, pointing out to Illia all the joys that life has to offer. He is constantly encouraging Illia to express himself, to create works of art and of course, to have fun adventuring with his 'friends'.

Kaleigha

One of the last remaining Seraphim, Kay is an iron minded warrior who managed to survive thousands of years battling on the front lines of the war. Leader of the now secret order of the Knights Templar, Kay became a close friend and mentor of Mark during his early years as a Dreamweaver. Kay decides that it's her responsibility to bring the boy into the ranks of the Templars. It becomes her quest to forge Illia as the weapon needed to help the dying ranks of her kind.

Chloe

A bright young schoolmate of Illia and his friends. Chloe and Illia share a schoolyard crush. Chloe and her brother Brendan find themselves caught in the midst of the Dreamweaver's adventures.

Brendan

The little brother of Chloe. Brendan has a fascination for Darius which leads him to stumble upon a world of fantasy and secret. Unfortunately for this bright eyed child, nobody takes his tales of adventure seriously.

Ms. Crosswaithe

The schoolteacher of Illia and his friends. Ms. Crosswaithe shares an attraction with the Adult Patrick. Becoming a part of both Patrick's adult and child identities she becomes a point of stress for the Dreamweaver as he tries to remain in balance.
